About Emory University

Emory University is a private research university in the Druid Hills area, in Atlanta, which is the capital and the most populous city in the US state of Georgia, having a population of approximately 540 900 inhabitants, its metropolitan area being the 9th largest in the country, with more than 5.4 million people, living within its limits.

Emory was established in 1836, being founded by a small group of Methodists, under the name of Emory College, which got its name from John Emory, a well-known Methodist bishop. Athletics
